☁️ Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

March, 2018

I read this book at the end of my twenties, with two little kids and a life shaped by expectations—many of them unspoken, but deeply ingrained. This book felt like a blessing. It gave me permission to slow down and listen for the voice of God within my own design. It nudged me to ask gentle, honest questions: What do I love? What stirs my creativity? What was I uniquely made to do? It helped me begin recovering the self God created—not the one shaped by pressure, performance, or productivity, but the one marked by purpose, delight, and His presence.

Winter, 2021

Next to the Bible, this book has changed my life more than any other. The One Minute Prayer has become the foundation of all of my spiritual practices. Practicing the graces he describes has allowed me to care for and make space in my soul. I’ve grown in peace and in resilience.
