Until our thoughts of God have found every visible thing and event glorious with his presence, the word of Jesus has not yet fully seized us. — Dallas Willard, The Divine Conspiracy
This idea sets me on fire. My heart feels like it’s going to burst out of my chest.
Jesus knew this was a God-bathed, God-permeated world — radiant, alive with His nearness. And I can feel Him whispering a promise: this is where we’re going. As I let myself be more and more steeped in His Word — written, inspired, incarnate — my eyes are slowly adjusting to the brightness.
And somewhere in that light, I remember my own early wonder. Dancing alone in my room to Michael W. Smith’s Gloria, offering God every bit of myself without hesitation. I didn’t know the language for it then, but I was moving in step with the Spirit. Fully given. Fully alive.
I think letting that little girl come awake again is part of the journey. As Jesus said, the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
Enjoy the song, perfect for the season and the subject, in all of its 80’s glory.
