I place of “the Egyptians” I pray:

This speaks to me:

  1. Yahweh is the one who shows Himself to them. It’s His action, not mine*.* He is always working, always moving, always speaking—even (especially?) to children. Any work I do with them is a co-labor.
  2. We are meant to know Him intimately. This is a deeply personal and individual relationship that we were made for. He initiates it. He pursues it. He wants it.
  3. “Who He really is”. There are—and will continue to be—wrong ideas about who God is and what He’s like. These lies stand between us and Him, preventing us from knowing Him as He truly is.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God… ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yahweh, You are the one who reveals Yourself. Just as You promised to show Yourself to the Egyptians, I believe You will show Yourself to my children—to my Garden Girls, to the sixth grade girls You’ve entrusted to me. Let them know You intimately.

Help me to link arms with Your Spirit in this work—not striving, but joining You. Let me follow Your lead, trusting you with the results.

If there is anything in me, any posture, fear, tone, or unspoken belief that misrepresents who You really are—remove it. Tear down anything I’ve modeled or built that gets in the way of their knowing You as You truly are.
